Wine and Cheese Tasting

CLASS SCHEDULE - FRANKLIN

Join us and learn all about cheese and pairings!  Make it a fun girl's night or date night or just come to nerd out on cheese and make new friends.  Classes are held at our store in The Factory on Thursdays from 6:00 - 8:00 PM or Sundays from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.  We do offer a few classes/events on other days. Limited spots (12 - 20 participants).
 
Doors open at the scheduled class time and instruction time begins promptly 15 minutes after.  At the end of each class you have time to shop our retail shelves or purchase some of the cheeses or retail products  you enjoyed during class

Believe it or not, pairing beer and cheese is more difficult than with wine. The complexity makes for a rewarding experience. Come learn how to pair cheese with beer, and drink a few while you’re at it! We will be tasting 4 beers, each paired with different cheeses.   SUN 4 - 6 PM

OCT 3 – The Best of Europe – Cheese & Wine Night $65

Who doesn’t wish to travel through Europe in the fall?  Now your taste buds can take you there!  At our best of Europe night, we enjoy some of Europe’s most delicious wine and cheeses.  We will enjoy 6 cheeses paired with two wines.  You will walk away ready to book a trip to Europe for more wine and cheese!  THU 6 – 8 PM

 

OCT 17– Wine Tasting – France vs Italy Night $65

French and Italian wines are some of the world’s most popular and beloved wines. French and Italian wines are both unique, complex and diverse. While they share many similarities, each type of wine has distinct characteristics.   Join us and learn all about these.  Enjoy six wines – 3 Italian and 3 French as we face these off and find out which one you favor.  THU 6 – 8 PM

 

OCT 24 – Melt & Mingle – Fondue Night: Cheese & Chocolate Fondue - $125

Nothing says fall like melty cheeses!  Join us for this experience for TWO guests.  Fondue became popular in the 1800s in the French and Swiss regions of the Alps.  Fondue was born out of a necessity to use aged cheeses and bread during the winter months when fresh food wasn't readily available.  Join us and experience a fondue dinner experience.  The first course will be cheese fondue as you dip into your cheese.  We will have a very traditional spread of bread, potatoes, charcuterie, green apples and cornichons.  This will be followed by our chocolate fondue as you dip sweet treats into your melty chocolate.  All this plus a bottle of Swiss wine making it the perfect fall evening. 


Ticket price is for TWO guests and it is for food and 20% gratuity for our staff.  THU 6 – 8 PM

NOV 1 - Cheese and Chocolate Pairings $45

No more perfect pairing exists when the two are combined. Join us for our BEST SELLING class as you learn how to pair cheeses with chocolate. Enjoy and delight your senses with five (5) cheese and chocolate pairings. FRI 6 – 8 PM


NOV 7 - Cheese 101 – Introduction to cheese - from fresh cheese to blues $45

By some estimates, there are over 1,800 types of cheeses in the world. This class will show you everything you need to know to help you get started on your cheese journey or expand your cheese knowledge. The class will give you an introduction as you learn about the different types of cheese, what to pair with it, a bit of cheese history, and tasting notes as you enjoy your five cheese selections.  We will start with sampling fresh cheese and end with the bold tastes of blue cheeses.   THU 6 – 8 PM

 

NOV 14 - Cheese, Charcuterie and Beer - $65

In this class, we will explore our favorite ways to pair cheese, charcuterie (cured meat) and beer together.  Believe it or not, pairing beer and cheese is more difficult than with wine. The complexity makes for a rewarding experience.  When it comes to charcuterie, it is widely known that cheese & charcuterie (cured meats) go very well together, but do you know why? Do you know which charcuterie will enhance the flavors of cheeses?  Join us and find out. THU 6–8 PM

 

NOV 21 – Night in the Alps - Raclette - $125

In French ‘to scrape’ translates to ‘racler’ and this is where the term Raclette comes from.

It’s history goes back to Swiss shepherds from the French speaking Valais region. They needed to bring food up to the Alps so they brought cheese and potatoes. This is an experience for TWO GUESTS.  Each will have a raclette dish consisting of traditional potatoes, charcuterie, cornichons and pickled vegetables.  This will be followed by our chocolate fondue as you dip sweet treats into your melty chocolate.  All this plus a bottle of Swiss wine making it the perfect fall evening.

DEC 8 - Build a Cheeseboard, Holiday Edition $55

Ever wonder how to build the perfect cheeseboard or grazing platter? Learn all the basics of building a cheeseboard as you build your own "mini/individual" board as you as you sip on a glass of wine (select from red or white). After you have put together your mini board, enjoy with us or take home with you! You will be ready to entertain as we share tips and tricks to making a showstopping board for the holidays!  SUN 4 – 6 PM

 

DEC 15 - Wine & Cheese Pairing, Holiday Edition $65

Spend your evening learning why wine and cheese are such a perfect match as we explore some special holiday cheeses and their perfect pairings. You will sip on two wines and enjoy up to five cheeses learning pairing principles to give you the confidence to approach a wine shop or cheese counter.  SUN 4 – 6 PM

 

DEC 22 - Cheese and Bubbles $70

Toast the start of the season as we learn about Champagne, the true gem of French wine and the standard of elegance. Enjoy 3 of our favorite bubbles and six cheeses perfectly paired together. You don't want to miss this fun learning experience!  SUN 4 – 6 PM

When purchasing tickets you agree to the below:

CANCELLATION POLICY:  No refunds will be given within FIVE (5) days of event, no exceptions.  

SEATING GUARANTEES:  Due to the intimacy and size of our space, only groups purchasing tickets on one credit card are seated together.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much do workshops cost?

Cost varies by workshop depending on the number of cheeses, wines or type of experience.  Cost is $45 - $85.

 

Where do I buy tickets?

You can buy tickets online or in person at our stores.  All workshops are announced a few weeks prior to the event via our newsletter and social media. 

 

Can I transfer my ticket from one class to another?

Our workshops sell out quickly, if there is availability in a future class of the same price, we are able to transfer tickets.  The fee for transferring to another class is $10 per ticket.

 

I am unable to attend the class I signed up for

If you cancel within 5 days of the workshop, we are not able to refund your ticket, we can pack up your cheeses for that particular class and you can pick them up for you to enjoy at home.

You will be issued a full refund as long are you are not canceling within 5 days of the scheduled class.  You can also transfer your tickets to another workshop, as long as you are not within the 5 days from the workshop date.

No refunds will be given within 5 days of the class, no exceptions.

 

Is there a wait list for workshops?

Yes! Since our classes sell out quickly, we often have a wait list.  Please send us an email to info@greyscheese.com and we will add you to the wait list.  You will be notified via email if there are openings due to cancellations.  These will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
